Lukaes (Lukacs) DUSANIC from Bile Gostowo (?).
Hediza sound better as Hedwiga.
A first name translation website: http://topolcsanyi.alphalink.com.au/names
Surname DUS'ANIC' and MARS'O shows up in Slovak Republic's phone book. www.zoznamst.sk An ALL site for research in SK:
www.iabsi.com/gen/public
Is this your ancestor Hedwiya, Jan, Gabriel, and Maria DUSANIC? She arrived in 1911. Hedwiga was naturalized citizen. The numbers by her name on the manifest. I can see the confusion in your research. The manifest says that she is Slovenian but the village Feheregyhaz, Pozsony megye is Biely Potok, Slovak Republic and Rozsavolgy, Pozsony megye as Ruzindol, Slovak Republic. Both of the villages are mentioned on the manifest as being that she left a mother MARSO Kristina.

Surname DUS'ANIC' can be found in Croatia's and Slovenia's phone book. It is the place of birth of your ancestors where you start the search. I would bet that the 3 DUS'ANIC' that show up in area code 033 (Trnava) are somehow related to your DUSANIC ancestor.

Shirley,
Ellis Island search is a very good website, but has many spelling and mistranscribing errors. Fehercyzhas should be Fehéregyház, a.k.a. Pozsony-Fehéregyház, Hungary, today Biely Kostol, Slovak republic, NOT Biely Potok!!!

You can see Pozsonyfehéregyház and Rózsavölgy next to it, on these early 1900s historical County maps of Hungary. Look for them in Pozsony County yellow colored district, adjacent to the city of Nagyszombat:
http://lazarus.elte.hu/hun/maps/1910/vmlista.htm

On todays modern map, like Mapquest, search for Slovakia/ Biely Kostol(Pozsony-Fehéregyház), Ruzindol(Rózsavölgy) and Trnava(Nagyszombat), all close to each other.

Let me know if have any questions.
Joseph

Thank you Joseph.
My mistake. Yes, it is Biely Kostol which is close to town of Trnava. The town Ruzindol is 8 km from Trnava.

I did www.google.com and located your first post on this board under Duszanits csalad, 2004,10.30. What happened? Where are you stuck? I sure left you loads of websites to check out and possible that few of them are no longer good. Please come back on the board so we can help you get going with the research.
